Thanks for the suggestions, here's some feedback,

We were thinking of doing a vbulltein or pcboard, but realized that by the time we had read the documentation we could of been half way done creating our own board. Those application require configuration in order to allow our own authentication system, instead of the one that is build in. I personally don't even know if it's possible to configure those boards in such a way easily without using any tricks. It would be silly to make the user register twice (once for the system and once for the board). At this point the board is already developed, so it would be just easier to improve it, rather than to start configuring an outside application.

HTML in user profiles. There is a plus side and a downside to this. Right now we see the downside bigger than the plus side. The downside: It can create annoyances, where users who don't know how to use HTML properly, create silly pages that for example require scrolling left and right just to see some pictures, insert videos which might annoy the user browsing the profile, or create inside frames that can't be read easily unless they are scrolled through. Security is also a concern here. Sometimes users make it difficult to even find the button required to message the user. Please note that some sites such as interia.pl don't allow personalized HTML. We are not trying to create another mySpace.com here. The plus side: Allows the user to be creative. We'll be looking into allowing users for some creativity in their profiles without annoying the viewer.

Layout - some improvements down the line will be considered. It's probably best to stick to a single layout for the site. Again, different layouts create annoyances.

Favourites - many users asked about this. It will probably come with time.

Overall, we are still waiting for more users. We need a bigger community to get more feedback and see how people use this site, and then see what we can provide. So far, it's looking good, so spread the word and thanx

quite honestly I think the original poster has some valid points... forums bring in regular users... not ones that just browse the profiles, never message anyone and never respond. The current forum layout is confusing in that its all over the place... its more of a blog format.
In my opinion there's 2 things that will make this website big
1. user base (we're not remotely there yet)
2. constant content that will keep bringing people back (this is where the forums come in)

so I think these are the things we need to work on if we are going to stick around... it's not an easy task. There's plenty of polish websites that tried but the userbase just never picked up.

I see you guys are not taking the user suggestions to heart. You should, as it is what makes the community. It's not hard to implement vbulletin, or interface the database with your current registration system. And take example from the most popular community website (myspace) HTML in profiles is what will MAKE it, even if you find some pages annoying.

We are not saying we will never implement custom HTML. Please keep in mind that we are just taking suggestions, and not requests, and they had been taken and noted as well as appriciated. However, please keep in mind that this is not a request where someone asks for something and it will be developed the next day This site is still run / developed mostly as a hobby, and believe it or not, it actually takes time to develop these things, and test them out, it is also paid for from someone's own pocket, and is kind of here for the people from the people. We are just at over 300 users, still need more, but going strong!

hey..was wondering if u guys can make like a DELETE button in the inbox area where you can highlight or check off the msgs u don't want anymore.I know I don't always delete every msg that i get right away and as they build up it's annoying having to open every single one just to delete it...
